Drawing with pencil the basic shapes and shades for the painting, this is the first of my paintings in this loose style. The temptation again of putting in more detail, I have to resist.

I decided to under paint the the shapes and the dark and light parts of the painting using just two colours.

At this stage the painting I felt had plenty of depth and was taking shape to be a nice landscape painting.
