This painting was a competition entry under the category 'finance' This is a totally new subject matter for me, I wanted to depict the sudden financial collapse.

Trying to be careful to not overwork the sofa, the painting needed to be kept loose and casual in places. The rose and the red graph line left to bleed on to the sofa, This I felt linked the red wine bottle, the wine glass, the red rose together.
