Designing and Drawing
This colourful little painting started with an intricate design based around a gnome casually playing his flute while being watched by a dragonfly. I included lots of colourful things that grew in my fantasy garden.
Blocking In Shapes
I started blocking in the shapes, working from the top downwards. No detail was needed at this point, only shapes of colour.

Adding more detail as a painting progressed.
More Detail
Careful painting of outlines on parts of the painting gave it more depth, making sure the vibrant colours were evident wherever I could.
Painting Completed
I am pleased with this colourful painting, the subject matter is joyful and could possibly make an interesting children’s jigsaw puzzle. I hope you enjoyed seeing the painting develop.
