Under Painting Started
I wanted to paint another big sky painting. I started by blocking in the horizon, not wanting to put any detail other than basic colour.
Blocking In Shapes
I sketched the figure on the camel in paint, making sure the proportions were correct. I continued blocking in basic shapes.
Detail Painting Being Added
The sky was as important to me as the figure on the camel, more details were needed to emphasise the shooting star. Adding colour to partially hide the full moon. Including the distant figures was another point of interest, making sure the desert landscape had detail and a means of taking me viewers eye on the journey into the distance.
Painting Completed
This painting was included in the television programme Songs of Praise which was recorded in Gloucester Cathedral. I enjoyed the experience of the television programme and whenever I see this painting it reminds me of that day. I hope you enjoyed seeing how it was painted.
