Design and Drawing Completed
This was another painting where I used acrylic paints, this little painting was based around a little gnome that playing his fiddle. I included mushrooms to balance the painting, it was a jolly painting and intended to make you smile.
Drawing On Canvas Using Paint
I traced the drawing onto canvas, then went over the outline with paint to make sure that I did not lose any drawing detail.
Blocked In Tones Of Greens
Mixing tones of green I blocked in the background, making sure the painting was loose and no detail. Then painted the foreground in a similar way. After mixing lots of colours I started painting the individual pieces of the composition, not with too much detail at this point.
Composition Needs Balancing
After having a good look at the painting, I decided it needed balancing out. I included more mushrooms on the left-hand side to give the painting more depth and interest.
Details On Mushrooms To Add For Detail
One of the tedious time-consuming parts was the outlines round each individual part of the painting, doing this made the image more cartoonlike and added strength to the composition.

Painting Completed
Adding more tones of colour and highlights gave more detail to the painting, this colourful piece of artwork was a joy to paint and gave me more experience using acrylic paints. I hope you enjoyed seeing the painting being constructed and the finished piece.
