Loose Painting
This painting was based on a limited palette of colour. The basic shapes are loosely painted and giving a hint of the horizon. I included the water as a feature and giving the painting more depth. Simple tones of colour were all that was needed at this time.
Adding More Detail
I added the outline of a oak tree as a point of interest, the branches giving the indication of interesting shapes between them. Using a limited palette is a challenging exercise but is quite effective on this winter landscape.
